A historical moment in the history of sex and protection:
Pope Benedict XVI announced that condom use, which has been long condemned by the Catholic Church, is permitted for male prostitutes seeking to stop the spread of HIV.
But as modern as this seems there is of course a catch - as usual. According to their rules it is okay for male prostitutes to wear one - so what about the rest of the world, people with a heterosexual tendency who are using condoms to prevent any sexually transmitted disease or getting the partner pregnant - are we worth less because we are thoughtful and responsible?
"At the same time, the pope considered an exceptional situation in which the exercise of sexuality represents a real risk to the lives of others. In this case, the pope does not morally justify the exercise of disordered sexuality, but believes that the use of condoms to reduce the risk of infection is a 'first step on the road to a more human sexuality', rather than not to use it and risking the lives of others."
The next step would be Pope Benedikt demonstrating the correct use of it.
Halleluja!
And by the way: carrying a condom does NOT mean you are a sex-manic/slut, using every opportunity that comes along, it just means that you are a very responsible person.
