Long live the king (E)

He is gone. One of the most famous celebrity in the world and yet one of the most lonely. One of the most controversial and one of the most misunderstood: Michael Jackson has left the earthly plane on the afternoon of June 25th, 2009.

I have always liked most of his music but it was only during those last couple of days that I have realized that MJ was more than just a pop star. Like millions of others I was glued to the TV, watching all available video clips on YouTube and listened to countless MJ songs. Like millions of others I tried to copy his moonwalk - it turned out to be too much for our fragile elevator which stopped between level 1 and 2. I listened to Christian von Lahr on coast to coast am who claimed that Michael Jackson would speak through him. When asked with whom his children should live in the future Christian/Michael replied "With the mother." Unfortunately for Mr von Lahr it turned out a few days later that MJ wants his children to live with his mother but, if she is unable/unwilling to do so, Diana Ross should take courtesy for them. Bugger.

However, MJ will go down in music history for having been a genius. A perfectionist in dancing and singing, a misunderstood personality who wanted to make this world a better place. One thing is for sure: we will never find out if the accusations were true. We will never know if his nose would have fallen off eventually or how many more changes he would have done to his face.

Let's hope he will be remembered for his music and dancing style.

The king is dead - long live the king!
